MUSE Show In Nashville

Last WED at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, a real rock show went down. MUSE brought their unique brand of melodic rock to Music City and a great crowd on SEPT 13th. From the very beginning of their set we all knew that it was going to be an amazing night. These guys are amazing musicians. You can hear a plethora of musical influence from classical to rip your face off rock! The dynamics between songs were as smooth as they come. Great show!

It seemed to be the ticket for the night in town. I ran into more than 2 dozen people I knew at the show. Right before Muse took the stage, I ran into Nathan and Cary from Luna Halo. In a year, I could see Nathan and the guys rocking the War Memorial. Just wait.

MUSE new record Black Holes and Revelations (their 5th release) has been in stores for about 2 months. Here's the skinny of the band if you are not familiar with them...
Muse are an English trio from Teignmouth in Devon. Pianist, singer, guitarist Matthew Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenhome, and drummer Dominic Howard formed Muse at age13.

The W.C. (Williamson County)

Once again, welcome to the W.C. If you have followed *The Blogstar, you have heard me talk about the county in which I live. In recent research, Williamson County is ranked 15th weathiest counties in the USA.

Per-capita income in the suburban area south of Nashville was an estimated $39,150 over the last 12 months, placing it 15th among the nation's 787 largest counties. Williamson's median family income is $90,087, which puts it 11th, according to the survey.

I live here?

There are pros and cons for living in an area like this, obviously. If you don't have a reality check on occasion, one can lose a grip on the real world.

New Edun ONE Shirts

Edun (Bono's wife Ali's clothing company) designed a new ONE fashion t-shirt for men and women in black and white. $40 might sound like a lot for a t-shirt, but I would rather buy one of those an another $40 Diesel shirt. And me likey some Diesel.

I posted something last year about Edun (Read HERE). Since then I have seen some of their line here and there. Females have a lot to choose from with Edun, really classy stuff. The guys on the other hand, not so much.

Great clothes, cause, and mission....

MTV's 2006 VMA's: Worst Show Yet?!

(WARNING: This will be pretty negative)

So, we have been watching this year's VMA's (Video Music Awards) of MTV. They have sucked. I don't know if I have ever seen a production this sloppy and lame. Even Jack Black hasn't been able to pull it out. There has been at least 6 microphone blunders; mics being on when they shouldn't have been, etc. as well as a couple miscues. 3 falling moon man flags, and a random Montel Williams appearance. What?! Haha.

It started out okay with Justin Timberlake's performance. I admit, I like his stuff. 5 Sexy Back references through out the night...

Jessica Simpson had some of her famous "blond" moments. Raconteurs were the house band for the night. Crap.

Pink made me laugh! Snoop chillin' w/ his gin and juice was funny too. His reference to God "The Top Dog of All" was classic Snoop.

The Vangard Award to Hype Williams was tasty. Hype has done some amazing videos for Pop and Hip Hop. Wow. Another wow was Christina Aguilera's performance. Some class and taste.

All American Reject's "Move Along" had some promise. Audio was bad, but visually it was pretty sweet. Great video anyway. Several other performances weren't anything special to even write about. T.I. was pretty much a joke. HAHAHA!
Dear MTV, What's going on with you all? Ok, visually you guys know what you are doing. Those who write your content might be on crack. I would check on that. :)

The Killers were a nice finale. Rock on.

Luna Halo, please have your people get a move on it!!! We all need some real ROCK. Thank you for not sounding like Fall Out Boy.

If you didn't watch this year's VMA's you will think that I was out to just rant and whine in this post. Watch it for yourself if you have NOTHING else to do. They will show it a thousand times I'm sure. If you DID watched it, you understand. If anyone else has any other takes on the show, I would love to hear it. I know I am not alone...
