Best Christian Record Of The Year?
This could possibly be one of the best "christian" records of the year that you haven't heard. If you shop for music at christian bookstores, you probably haven't seen Lifehouse's "Who We Are". If you are thinking, "how could it be a christian record and NOT be in a christian bookstore?" That would be another blog post all together. :)

Dude I am totally with you on this one. Another one of those albums would be Mute Math. I honestly believe that is the best album all the way through I have heard in a very long time.
I 2nd Mute Math. The whole album is pretty amazing.
I'm there w/ you guys on MuteMath of course! But, they haven't been billed a "christian" act on their last record.
Last year I would have said Leeland's debut CD, and this coming year (including this month), I would have to give a nod to Phil Wickham's "Cannons"...
I like you guys.

You guys are probably right. I haven't listened to christian music in above 5 years. Unfortunately, I think that it all sounds the same and says the same thing in the same way. Lame music, mix, and lyrics.
Chad,
MuteMath sued to get there music back out of Christian book stores. They didn't want to be pigeonholed into one arena. I respect that. I mean look at what a lot of "cross over bands" go through, it is terrible. I mean the christian side tends to go "booo you aren't christian/christian sounding enough...sing about Jesus" and the rest of God's creation goes
"booo I don't want to listen to your christian music."
Man that made me think of a good queston which I think I will ask on my blog "what would happen if we got rid of christian books stores?"
the way I see it, it would force christians to not further segregate themselves from the world.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you (Chad) in the Christian Music industry? Sounds strange that you would be bashing on the very business that feeds you. But then again, you wouldn't be the first muscian I've heard do that.
What is it with you guys in Nashville?
If I may say something to "annonymous" that guy who will not say who he is because his closet identity protects him. I think Chad gets it, I think if you got rid of all the "christian book stores" that would be one more avenue where we "the church," would be forced to be out with the rest of God's creation, or if you need a little churchinese "the unbelivers, the lost."
Oh, the people who love to stir. Why can't things be taken for face-value? Why must we read into things that aren't there? I was raised that if you cannot say something nice (Or constructive) do not say anything at all. You can disagree, but be constructive and do not judge, lest ye...I bet you can finish that. ;)
Dear anonymous blog reader, the point of the post was not to bash on the amazing Christian music industry, please pick up my sarcasm. In fact if you will read again, Chad never mentions the music industry in this blog post (it sorta sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder), but he points out that it is a good thing that bands who have good music by the world's standards, are not stuck with a "Christian" label (and production) and therefore limited to reaching only the "choir" through Christian distribution and bookstores, but are able to spread the Good News through their life and music. Remember, it is about bringing the Kingdom, not our petty preferences.
And, I am correcting you. Chad WAS in the Christian music business. He is not now (so do your homework before you post) and it never actually fed him. :) The Good Lord provided.
Jen (not anonymous)
Shawn. You and I tend to think a like. You are probably a pretty rad dude. ;)
Jen, DANG girl dang. I don't even need to respond to the un-named person.

What about MWS? Has he had a new cd out this year? I bet it was awesome.
FFE
Chad I have a feeling that as you said, sitting around with a beverage, smoking a stoggie(this is where I add a part) listening to O.A.R. with you would probably be a blast.
