I gave my mom a lamp. Nothing special about that ... just that she wanted it and didn't expect it at all. I love giving something that the person doesn't expect!

I gave my brother a paramore cd. Is that good?
I gave my partner the Conchords discs as well! I think that the favourite gift I gave was (again to my partner) a copy of Bob Gruen's "John Lennon: the New York Years" book. He was really surprised.
I gave my mother pictures from over the years, put them in a frame and watched her cry. :) Good times.
