Muse & My Chemical Romance Show In Nashville

Municipal Auditorium housed the rock show of Muse and My Chemical Romance (MCR)Wednesday night.

My Chemical Romance never had a chance. I'm not sure who made the call to have Muse open for these guys (MCR) headlining tour, but they should be fired. After Muse got through rocking the paint off of the place, there wasn't much left to do but go home. Instead we stayed around to see some of MCR. Pretty cool show I guess. I felt frikin old. Most of the crowd that came for MCR were teenage rocker girls, and wannabe rocker middle school boys.

Musically I'm not sure who you can put Muse on a bill with that won't be made to look bad. HERE IS MY STATEMENT OF THE YEAR... okay, maybe MONTH... Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy is one of the most talented people I have EVER seen or heard. EVER!I saw a couple people that were surprised to see me there at the show. "I thought that you would be at the Dove Awards" they said. Being that they were WED night as well, I had to make a choice. I think I made the right one. Maybe the Tomlin, I mean Dove Awards next year... maybe. ;)

Wow, what a week.

The Killers Hit Nashville @ The Ryman

The Killers lived up to their name last night. Once again, The Ryman was host to another amazing night of music. For me it doesn't get any better than this historic venue.

We had great seats right behind a couple of the Nashville Predators (guess they have plenty of time off these day...).

It felt like hit after hit after hit... then you realize, they were playing a lot from their first record (Hot Fuss). The Sam's Town theme was very simple and fitting for this tour. At one point, I thought the place was going to start falling down. They rocked it.

More on their very entertaining opening act later.

Hillsong United @ The Ryman

Last night I was backstage for the Hillsong United set at the Ryman. Having never seen them do their thing live, I must have been thinking that it was a going to be a nice night of NEW churchy worship. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed their last 2 records, and I am looking forward to their May release, but I wasn't expecting the night to be what it was.

I got a word for you after last night. WOW.

The band was tighter than most other bands that one would see doing a rock tour.... and then there was an engaging of people in worship that I haven't really witnessed for quite sometime. For almost 2 hours the capacity crowd sang, stood, danced, clapped, sat, and bowed in response to the Father.

I met some of the guys, and I must say that these guys seem to be the "real deal". This was one of the most refreshing things that I have been a part of in my 7 years of GMA. Joel, God has given you an amazing thing at this time in history. Run with it.

Smitty invited a friend to join him on stage. Fun times.

Tonight, I will be back at the Ryman for another band.... The Killers. Interesting contrast eh?!

What I've Done - Linkin Park

The new single from Linkin Park. I dig.

What I've Done

In this farewell,
There’s no blood,
There’s no alibi.
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret,
From the truth,
Of a thousand lies.

So let mercy come,
And wash away…

What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.

Put to rest,
What you thought of me.
While I clean this slate,
With the hands,
Of uncertainty.

So let mercy come,
And wash away…

What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.

For What I’ve Done

I start again,
And whatever pain may come.
Today this ends,
I’m forgiving what I’ve done.

I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.
What I’ve done.

Forgiving What I’ve Done.
